About

Christina Colanduoni is a musicologist specializing in the transnational circulation of Italian opera. Her thesis project focuses on the Island of Kerkya (Corfu) as a contested site of inter-imperial power struggles between the East and West at the turn of the nineteenth century, and the role opera at the Teatro Nobile played in the formation of Greek identity. Prior to studying at UChicago, she received a B.A. in Music from Temple University, and an M.A. in Musicology from McGill. In her free time, Christina enjoys singing, playing tennis, and writing opera reviews for Parterre Box.
