Modern Performance of Medieval Music
The presentation of sacred medieval music around the world today differs extensively from its original context. Trio Mediæval’s performances uniquely blend past and present, spanning centuries and cultures. This acclaimed trio, the Don Michael Randel Ensemble-in-Residence for 2025-26, explores authentic medieval repertoire from Europe and regularly commissions composers inspired by those medieval traditions. In this special lecture-recital, the group will present both original medieval pieces and modern works that reflect and celebrate the rich heritage of the medieval era.
