The South Asian Music Ensemble’s spring recital, Geetha Vaidya Nritya Trayam, or “The Threefold Art of Song, Instrumental Music, and Dance,” is a folk medley concert that brings together diverse South Asian musical traditions. Featuring instrumentalists, singers, and dancers, the program explores the deep connections between lyrics, bols, ragas, and rhythmic structures woven through folk, classical, and semi-classical genres.
