Pramantha Tagore presents a traditional Sarod performance based on North Indian Raga Music. Tagore will be accompanied by Pial Hope on the Tabla for a recital framed around the late-afternoon raga, Bhimpalasi. The program begins with an Alap (an improvised introduction), followed by the Jod (a formal composition), and concludes with two sections based on Jhaptaal (10-beat cycle) and Teentaal (16-beat cycle) forms. Complimentary tea and cookies are served at 4:15 PM, and the music begins at 4:30 PM.
