In its fall concert, the New Music Ensemble (NME) presents a program centered around Julius Eastman's "Stay On It." Rising star composer-pianist Matthew Schultheis – the first of three composer-performer fellows working with the ensemble this year – joins NME in a performance of his compositions. The performance also features a work by visiting guest composer Shih-Hui Chen, presented in collaboration between NME and UChicago's Jade Chinese Music Ensemble, as well as pieces by graduate students Andrew Stock and Nathan Friedman.
