Zoom

Experienced musicians as well as novices who are interested in exploring sound creation for the very first time are invited to join together in creating recorded performances for the Department of Music’s project, Sound Fantastic. The Sound Fantastic initiative will enhance the Light Fantastic project organized by the Smart Museum of Art by creating sound installations for various locations around campus.

With the assistance of Sam Pluta, Assistant Professor and Director of the Computer Music Studio, Department of Music graduate students Hunter Brown and Theodore Moore lead a series of introductory workshops to assist participants in the creation, recording, and mixing of short audio- or audio-visual performances. Performances can be generated by individuals or by small groups of 2-5 people. Students without formal musical training as well as more experienced musicians are invited to work together to generate these recordings; the Music Department will assist with forming groups of interested students, as needed.

Participants in this workshop should also plan to attend the workshop on January 21Advanced registration is encouraged.
