Balkan Rhythms: Lecture, Workshop, Performance, Exhibit

The leader of the Chicago-based ensemble Balkan Dances (Balkanski Igri), John Kuo, who also happens to be a University of Chicago alumnus, brings the entire ensemble to campus for a workshop so that the students can participate and try to learn some of the dances. Before the workshop, John Kuo gives a one-hour lecture about Balkan music in general, and the dance rhythms in particular. At the end of the workshop, the ensemble gives a brief performance.
