Barbara Dietlinger

About

Barbara Dietlinger is a PhD candidate in Music History and Theory at the University of Chicago. She received two Magister Artium degrees (M.A.) from the University of Munich, Germany, where she studied Musicology and Slavic Philology with a minor field in Theater Studies. Barbara was a visiting scholar at the Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic in 2011 and at the University of California, Berkeley in 2012/13. From 2009 to 2015, Barbara was a research assistant at the Orlando di Lasso Complete Edition at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. She was a fellow of the Hans-Böckler-Foundation (2008-2015). Barbara read papers at national and international conferences and published articles in journals, encyclopedias, and conference proceedings. Her dissertation has the working title “Music and Commemoration in Early Modern Northern Europe – Visual and Sonic Intersections of Remembrance.”
