Resources for Students

After Graduation
All students who borrowed funds from any University of Chicago loan program, including government sponsored programs such as Federal Perkins, Direct Stafford or GradPLUS, are required under federal regulations to have exit interview counseling before leaving the University and receiving diplomas. The Graduate Financial Aid office notifies students of the process for completing this requirement. Students may call their office at (773) 702-6061 for more information.
Spring Convocation Ceremony
The Division of the Arts & Humanities holds a Graduation and Hooding Ceremony on the final Friday of spring quarter in conjunction with the University-wide Convocation. At the divisional event, graduates from all four quarters of the academic year are recognized, and doctoral candidates are hooded. There is no hooding ceremony in other quarters; doctoral graduates from the previous three quarters are invited to participate in the spring ceremony. Graduates of the MA programs are also invited to separate diploma ceremonies and celebratory events.
