Professor Philip V. Bohlman receives the 2017 Fumio Koizumi Prize in Ethnomusicology

We are proud to announce that Philip V. Bohlman, the Ludwig Rosenberger Distinguished Service Professor in the Department of Music and the College, has been awarded the 2017 Fumio Koizumi Prize in Ethnomusicology.

The Fumio Koizumi Prize is an international award for achievements in ethnomusicology, presented annually in Tokyo by the Fumio Koizumi Trust. Professor Bohlman will give a lecture at the Award Ceremony on May 24th in Tokyo. He will also present at Tokyo University of the Arts on May 25th and at the meeting of the Japanese Musicological Society in Kobe on May 26th.
