Rehanna Kheshgi featured in newsletter of American Institute of Indian Studies

PhD Ethnomusicology candidate Rehanna Kheshgi traveled to northeastern India on an American Institute of Indian Studies fellowship to conduct research on Bihu music and dance, a formerly stigmatized rural genre, which has now gained more widespread appeal. During her time there, Rehanna has traveled and performed with Bihu celebrity Angaraag "Papon" Mahanta, as well as performing in much more rural, ritualized settings.

Her experiences with this have been written about in the latest issue of the Newsletter of the American Institute of Indian Studies, available here
