We're very pleased to report that Phil Taylor, a Composition PhD student in the Music Department, has been chosen as one of eight young classical composers to be named winners of BMI's 2014 Student Composer Awards.
Within the Student Composer Awards, BMI also grants the William Schuman Prize for Most Outstanding Score. Phil had the additional honor this year of being a co-winner for that prize as well. He earned these awards for his work Chiaroscuro for chamber orchestra. Over 300 entries were submitted this year and each was judged anonymously.
Please join us in congratulating Phil on his second BMI Student Composer Award, and check out his website for more information about him and his work.
