Barbara Schubert honored with Janel M. Mueller Award for Excellence in Pedagogy

The Department of Music is immensely excited to share that Barbara Schubert has been awarded the Janel M. Mueller Award for Excellence in Pedagogy. Barbara is a longtime Senior Lecturer, the director of the Performance Program, the conductor of the University Symphony Orchestra, and the director of the New Music Ensemble. She is a revered and beloved figure in the department and well-deserving of this recognition.

The award is given by the Division of the Humanities and named for Janel M. Mueller, the William Rainey Harper Distinguished Service Professor Emerita in the Department of English Language and Literature and former Dean of the Division of the Humanities. Janel will personally present Barbara with the award at the Division of the Humanities Diploma and Hooding Ceremony on Saturday, June 11, in Mandel Hall.
