Andrew McManus named CULTIVATE Fellow for 2015

Composition PhD student Andrew McManus has been selected as one of six fellows for Copland House's CULTIVATE, a week-long intensive creative workshop for emerging American composers under the direction of acclaimed composer-clarinetist Derek Bermel

The annual workshop brings six composers who are in the early stages of their careers to Aaron Copland's National Historic Landmark home in Cortlandt Manor, NY, where each will compose a five to seven minute piece to be performed on the Copland House's mainstage at the end of the week by the Music from Copland House Ensemble. The workshop includes daily individual and collective work sessions and rehearsals, and informal discussion sessions about practical, professional, and career matters with prominent music executives and arts leaders.

Congratulations, Andrew!
