The Abstract Truth: Music of Oliver Nelson

This winter the Jazz Ensemble continues to explore the American traditions of the jazz orchestra, large and small, with music of Oliver Nelson. Nelson is a legendary American jazz arranger, composer, and bandleader. His 1961 Impulse! album The Blues and the Abstract Truth is regarded as one of the most significant recordings of its era.

All event attendees aged 12+ who are attending public Music Department events must provide proof of vaccination. By exception, visitors who are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons or due to a sincerely-held religious belief may provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event, or proof of a positive test 14-90 days prior to the event with affirmation that you are not experiencing any symptoms.

All attendees aged 2+ must wear a face-covering over the nose and mouth at all times.
