Concerto Showcase Concert

The University Symphony Orchestra shares the stage with the University Wind Ensemble and University Chamber Orchestra in a showcase concert featuring three of the four winners of the 2026 University of Chicago Concerto Competition.  First Place Winner Anthony Yoon will be the soloist in the first movement of Tchaikovsky’s magnificent Violin Concerto In D Major, Op. 35, accompanied by the University Symphony.  The two Second Place Winners of the 2026 Concerto Competition – clarinetist Pablo Ramirez-Garcia and flutist Julie Sun – will perform with the University Wind Ensemble and University Chamber Orchestra respectively, presenting Debussy’s exquisite Première Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Cécile Chaminade’s colorful Concertino pour flûte, Op. 107.
