Women's Chorale Women's Chorale Women's Chorale

Director: Elizabeth Swanson
Rehearsals:   Tuesdays, 7:00–9:30 p.m., Rockefeller Chapel

The Women’s Chorale, an auditioned chamber ensemble of 30 members, provides women from across campus and community the opportunity to sing repertoire from the seventeenth century to the present, both accompanied and a cappella.  Programs include masses, motets, spirituals, folk songs, and a variety of other classical and contemporary pieces in many different languages.  The Chorale has a particular emphasis on 20th- and 21st-century repertoire specifically crafted for women’s voices.  In addition to performing its regular concerts this year, highlights of the upcoming season include collaborating with the University Symphony Orchestra in the annual Halloween concert and hosting the University’s first on-campus Women’s Chorus Festival later in the year.  Membership in the Women’s Chorale is open to undergraduates, graduates, and community members.

Vocal auditions are held during Orientation Week at the beginning of autumn quarter.
