Scott Landvatter, Bibliographer for Music
Scott Landvatter, Bibliographer for Music, selects books, scores, journals, microforms, computer software and recordings in the areas of music and dance. He also provides music reference service, consultations, and bibliographic instruction.
Holding degrees in music theory and musicology, Scott taught music theory and history at the University of Utah for eight years. During this time, he also served as director of the Salt Lake Vocal Ensemble, a sixteen-voice chamber choir; and was director of the church choir at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City.
Scott left the West and moved to Chicago, where he received a degree in library science. Soon thereafter, he became the music cataloger at Regenstein Library, and, later, music bibliographer. In addition to his work at the library, Scott sings with several choral groups in Chicago and, as a certified public school teacher, teaches science and math in a number of Hyde Park area schools.
