Patricia Brauner, Coordinator of the Center for Italian Opera Studies
Patricia B. Brauner is the Coordinator of the Center for Italian Opera Studies , which prepares the Rossini critical edition and assists the University of Chicago Press with the Verdi edition. She is Managing Editor of the Works of Gioachino Rossini (Bärenreiter-Verlag, Kassel) and has edited Rossini's L'occasione fa il ladro (with Giovanni Carli Ballola and Philip Gossett), Ermione (with Philip Gossett), Armida (with Charles S. Brauner), La riconoscenza / Il vero omaggio, and La pietra del paragone (with Anders Wiklund). Brauner also maintains the Center's website.
Besides 19th-century Italian opera, her interests lie in medieval music and liturgy, manuscript studies, and problems of editing. Ph. D., Yale University, 1970; at Chicago since 1985.
