An impromptu reunion for Howard Sandroff and former students

A concert in honor of John Eaton’s 75th Birthday brought together a host of University of Chicago alumni composers and their instructor Howard Sandroff for an impromptu reunion in March of 2010.  Sandroff was in attendance to hear the works of his former students performed on the program, which also included Eaton’s “Microtonal Fantasy”, “Fantasy Romance”, “Concert Music for Solo Clarinet” and other pieces.  The group of composers took a minute to pose for a photo.  Pictured at right are Sandroff and his students going back 25+ years.  “It was great seeing them all at once and I was glad we took a moment to shoot the picture.  I am going to print it and hang it on my wall as a reminder of what it’s really all about,” said Sandroff.
