David and Amy Fulton Recital Hall is an intimate concert venue located on the fourth floor of Goodspeed Hall. The heart of the Music Department, Fulton seats 150 people and is used for rehearsals, colloquia, and special lectures. The hall is equipped with state-of-the art recording, audio/visual, and sound reinforcement equipment.

Mandel Hall

Mandel Hall is the University’s largest concert and assembly hall. Mandel hosts a variety of student and community groups, including select Department ensembles, and many University of Chicago Presents performances. The rich Victorian interior of Mandel includes seating for 900 audience members, ornate oak woodwork, gothic windows (including one made by Tiffany & Co., given to the University by the class of 1902), and superior acoustics. The celebration of Mandel Hall's opening took place in December 1903 and was marked by a special Chicago Symphony Orchestra performance. The hall underwent a significant $2 million renovation in 1981.

Rockefeller Memorial Chapel

Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, so named for the University’s founder, John D. Rockefeller, is a glorious gothic space that accommodates up to 1,500 people. The chapel’s majestic limestone exterior rises dramatically along the Midway Plaisance, creating a central architectural feature of the campus. Rockefeller Chapel sustains a long and distinguished tradition in performance of the organ, carillon, orchestral, and sacred choral repertoire. The Chapel regularly hosts concerts by select Department ensembles as well as many University of Chicago Presents performances.

Reva and David Logan Arts Center
5801 South Ellis Avenue
The Reva and David Logan Center for Creative and Performing Arts, slated for opening in 2011, will be a venue for multi-disciplinary artistic expression, exploration, performance, and production by faculty and students. The Center will house all or parts of four University arts programs, including the Music Department. The Department looks forward to additional practice rooms (for both individuals and ensembles), classrooms, and a state-of-the-art auditorium in the building. Designed by the Tod Williams Billie Tsien architecture firm, the Reva and David Logan Center for Creative and Performing Arts will be yet another home for artistic creativity, intellectual inquiry, and exuberant music-making on campus.
