Department Colloquia Series
The Department sponsors a colloquium series that typically includes four or five presentations each quarter, normally held on Friday afternoons. Colloquium lectures are made by students and faculty in the Department, and also by visiting scholars and composers. As the most regular departmental occasion for intellectual dialogue and one of the most important opportunities for outside professional contact, colloquium is viewed as an important part of academic life in the Department. It is normally taken for credit during the second part of Scholastic Residence, or exceptionally during Advanced Residence, but all students are strongly urged to attend.
